Stephany is currently a secondary literacy coach at Park County School District 6 in Cody, WY and an adjunct instructor for Grand Canyon University's College of Education. She worked for 10 years with a variety of at-risk youth programs in Minnesota, the Philippines, Colorado, and California before becoming a high school teacher. She has enjoyed growth as a professional working at Cody High School since 1999. A National Board Certified Teacher, her greatest accomplishment is her students' success but she was also thrilled to receive the Arch Coal Teaching Award in 2012, to participate as a Fulbright Teachers for Global Classrooms Fellow in 2013, to earn her Doctor of Edcuation in Curriculum and Instruction in 2019, and to be awarded the Wyoming History Teacher of the Year Award in 2021.
With over 25 years of experience in education, she promotes her passion for disciplinary literacy, object & place-based learning, Indian Education for All, and global competencies. She also shares stories that inspire her growth and strengthen her values. |
